Arctic Sea Ice Minimum 2025

With Arctic ice having reached its Minimum for 2025, it is time for the annual update. My figures come from NSIDC.

2025 is the eleventh lowest on record. That is to say that ten years had LOWER winter sea ice minima than this year. The NSIDC commentary give 2025 as 10th equal with 2008 (4.59m Km2) on the basis that values within 40,000 Km2 are considered equal.

The last nineteen (19) years show the lowest annual arctic sea ice minimum in the satellite record (ie since 1979). However, the trend over the last nineteen years 2007 – 2025 is -0.15% per annum. That seems to me to be as close to flat as makes no difference. NSIDC agree, saying “While the last 19 years, from 2007 to 2025, are the lowest 19 sea ice extents in the satellite record, there has been no significant trend in September minimum extents over this time”.

With the correct use of the english language present tense, the world IS NOT warming.
